I sweat in the heat when sun shines bright,

I shiver in the numb cold night,

I pray ,I hope ,I bid,I strife……

Why I am not blessed with crystal clear dawns?

why I always have to fight?

A little of salt, sweet and pepper,

something bitter with a dash of lime,

I wish to taste all moods of clime.

.

I walk beside the lorn lagoon,

specially at the dinner time,

it doesn’t cost me even half a dime,

I find ease of heart and peace of mind,

This is how I escape from hunger,

but never thought of escaping from life.

.

I build the sand castles on the sea side,

as if it’s my house and take a dream ride,

It doesn’t cost me even half a dime,

I find ease of heart and peace of mind,

This is how I escape from being homeless,

but never thought of escaping from life.

.

My skin absorbs the heat and cold,

When they pierce more, I just rhyme,

It doesn’t cost me even half a dime,

I find ease of heart and peace of mind,

This is how I escape from being without a wrap,

But never thought of escaping from life.

LIFE IN A JAR

Some late comers , a nosy bunch, bit sincere stuff,a fighters club………….O oo Don’t need to put on your thinking caps ..I shall tell you….  they were the gangs of  my students….

Talkative,HOD’ s tail,introvert,cocky…..These were the different species of my colleagues  ….

Walking down through the memory lane I was recalling  few of my lectures when I used to give the demonstrations along with the  theory  in Personality Development classes……

I would like to share one of those inspirational stories with all of you…You might have read it in one or the other phase of  life but I am sure you won’t lose anything if you read it again…

Here goes that story…

The professor stood before his class with some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a very large and empty jar and proceeded to fill it with golf  balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full .They agreed that it was.

Then the professor picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar.He shook the jar lightly The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.Of course ,the sand filled up everything else .He asked once more if the jar was full .The students responded with a unanimous “yes”.

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar ,effectively filling the space between the grains of sand.

“Now ” said the professor,as the laughter subsided,”I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf  balls are your partner, your children, your health, your friends, your passions-  things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.” The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car.The sand is everything else-the small stuff.

“If you put  the sand into the jar first,”he continued,”there is no room for pebbles or golf balls. The same goes for life If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for things that are important to you.Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness .Play with your children.Take time to medical checkups.Take your partner out to dinner.

“There will always be time to clean your house and fix the disposal.Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter.Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled.”I am glad you asked. It just goes to show that no matter how full your life may seem, there’s always room for couple of cups of coffee with a friend.”

The students clapped as I ended up the demonstration of the above story and I was delighted to know that my students took a step forward towards understanding life.

What about you?

Do you take care of your health?

Do you take your partner out for dinner?

Do you spend time with your children?

Do you often give a call to your friends?

Do you make an extra effort to live your passion?

Do you have a coffee chat with your friends once in a while?…..Just think about it…

So what say friends let’s have a cup of coffee together….Drop in at my place any day any time  ..and we will have loads of fun….

In the random flow of life, while dealing and  negotiating with the daily lows and highs and searching for few moments when she was not in any relationship other than with her and herself, she didn’t even  realized that she was ebbing away.

Peep into my window of thoughts to know Whether the time has travelled or we have changed with time…………………………….(It is just a general view.No evaluations on personal basis)

The dawn use to be  with golden sunrays and the dusk with the divine moonlight..Now also it is the same.

Morning wake ups and night sleeps were the keys to FMAB(Fresh Minds and Active Bodies).Everything seems to have turned around.

The childhood had innocence and candidness..Now it seems to be left somewhere behind.

The moral and cultural values were the most valuable assets. These values are diminishing for the sake of name ,fame and money.

Games like chorguppi, satolia, basket ball etc. are just outstripped by the farmville and many more  computer games.

The mantra for success was “Work  Hard“.Now it has changed to “Pray Hard“.

The aromas and the flavors of the home cooked food played vital role in nurturing the family’s health.Today  we crave for those aromas and flavours.

Vehicles were then used rarely, preferred was walking .Today we prefer vehicles to cover even 100m of distance and we walk rarely.

The neighbours use to be like  family members..Now the family members are like neighbours.

The evening teas were awaited as they use to be the time of family gatherings. Now each one have their own cup according to his/her own convenience.

SITK(Single income with two to three kids) were preferred. Now the formula has changed to DINK(Double Income No Kids).

Nature and human beings were the best friends.Mantra then was “Protect each other“.Now they are like enemies.Mantra now   is “Destroy each other.”

We use to learn the things we love and we use to love the things we learn. Now we don’t love and we don’t learn.

We use to gain respect maintaining others respect .Today’s mantra is “Disrespect others to gain respect

Previously it was “Live and let live.”Now it is  ”Live but don’t let live.”

We use to laugh together and now we laugh at each other.

The list could be endless……

The technology has amplified with time .It   bestowed upon us loads of  luxuries and jillion of comforts and amazingly ,gradually the world now is  pint sized  where geographical distances are no issues, time is not a concern .Anywhere, anytime one could get in touch with other .

But are we really able to touch each other’s hearts and genuinely have concern for them?

Are we surely having any true relations and friends or are they all virtual?

I keep pondering on these issues now and then..and return to the same question .. ..

WHETHER THE TIME HAS TRAVELLED OR WE HAVE CHANGED WITH TIME?

Let me know your views……

A bitter day ,a morose heart,a perturbed mind. She started walking down the street gazing at the murky waters after the showers of rain. She came across a chair in one of the silent corners of the street side garden and sat down to rest for a while.
In the realm of dreams she met someone (she said He was the God). They started conversing….
CONVERSATION :
****
SHE : What if you would have forgotten to create one of the “Panchatatvas”(the five aspects of divinity )?
GOD : Life would have still existed  but might not have been as beautiful as it is now.
****
SHE : What if you would have forgotten to create  a woman /man?
GOD : Life would have still existed  but might not have been as beautiful as it is now.
****
SHE  : What if you would have created the beginnings and forgotten to create  the ends?
GOD  : Life would have still existed but might not have been as beautiful as it is now.
****
SHE  :  What if you would have forgotten to create  the differences among all living beings?
GOD  : Life would have still existed  but might not have been as beautiful as it is now.
****
SHE  : What if you would have forgotten to create  emotions ,strengths and weaknesses in the living beings?
GOD : Life would have still existed  but might not have been as beautiful as it is now.
****
SHE  :  What if you would have forgotten to create  me?
GOD  : Life would have still existed  but might not have been as beautiful as it is now.
****
SHE  :  What if  I were you and you were me?
GOD  : Life would have still existed  and might  have been more beautiful than it is now.
Every single “tatva”, every single being, every single difference, every single existence,  every single beginning, every single end, every single word ,every single deed makes a difference and has its own role to beautify and balance the life cycle on this earth. So try to keep the beauty and maintain the balance.
****
SHE  : I am feeling light-hearted…
****
Quote from Martin H.Fischer.
Life is a ticket to the greatest show on this earth.
Adding a line from my side…..
Life is a ticket to the greatest show on this earth.
Put your heart and soul to do every bit of virtuous deeds and let this show of life feel your dearth.

When will you be Happy ???

One  evening  I  was  walking  along  the  seaside  and  enjoying  the  sunset.

Suddenly  I  got  distracted  by  the  noise  made  by  the  group  of  people

sitting  there. The group had both men and women of different age

groups. Curiously  I  stepped  towards  them  and  found  that   they

were  playing  a  game .One  of  the  members  use  to  throw  a  question  ,

everybody   has  to  answer  it but no  one  could  repeat

the  answer . While being a part of the game passively a  question

clicked   my mind  and  unwontedly  I got nearby  to  the  group,

interrupted them  and  took  permission to ask  one  question . As everybody

was  ready  to  listen to me  I threw  my  question.

WHEN WILL YOU BE HAPPY???

One by one I started getting the answers.

The answers were……..

-When I will   earn 1 crore rupees.

          – When I will get a good job.

          – When I will get promoted.

          – When I will become a Grandmother.

          – When I will receive an award.

          -When I will get married.

                           And so on………

Can you take out some inference??

Sheer dependencies and nothing else.

But Why? Why are we dependent on the happenings for the happiness?

Don’t  you  think  that  this  way  one  day  we  will  end  up  with  the

life  in  search  of  happiness  but  Would never be happy. Why  can’t  we

be  happy  in  the  present  moment  and  at  it’s  fullest.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME THE ANSWER?

I shall  wait  for  your  answers  and  then  in the  next  post  shall

give  you  another  Life  Mantra …

Keep Writing…
